A full set of new roof battens and underlay installed; with re-use of salvaged original slates. New hip and ridge tiles brought the finished look together.

Roofing battens elevate roof tiles above the roof deck and can be run either horizontal or perpendicular to the slope of the roof; once installed, the tiles are usually fastened to the battens.
